On the charming Vrijdagmarkt square in the heart of Antwerp, we turned the top floor of an old, neglected property into a warm and luxurious nest. The owner’s intention was to harbour several spacious city apartments of around 100 m2, and this duplex loft is one of them.

The dark and natural materials used in the living room area, give this loft its industrial yet luxurious character. The kitchen takes up a prominent space, as cooking and dining are important daily activities to our customer. A separate office in a cosy corner ensures privacy within the otherwise open space. This way, the residents can easily live together without disturbing one another.

We spiced up the interior with some custom designs, such as the standing lamp CDC-L02, which is made of a series of old Chinese ceramic pots that were once used for a Dries Van Noten fashion show. The beautiful lamp catches your eye in the dark ensemble and diffuses a warm bundle of light.

In stark contrast with the living space, the bedroom has a soft, off-white interior. The high pile woolen carpet makes you feel like you’re walking on a white cloud – a heavenly feeling.
